This year celebrating 40 years as a Beatles Tribute in one form or another, Steve's first outing began with Duo
'Strawberry Fields' in1976, playing the songs of the fab four to their growing following in their home town in Wales. The act continued until 1995 when Steve made the move to live in Tenerife, interspaced with spells with bands such as 'Jukebox', 'Kleen Kut, and 'Head Over Heels' and also working as a solo act, 'Steve Taff Martin'.
Working as an Entertainer from 95' in Tenerife saw Steve working 7 nights a week, once for three years without a night off, making a living still with the Beatles Soundtrack until 2001, when he returned to the UK.
Reforming 'Strawberry Fields' and taking on the holiday camp circuit the duo supported such acts as the Batchelors, Brotherhood of Man, Rock and Roll Circus, The Searchers, and many more, gaining a solid reputation as a great sounding Tribute to John and Paul, without the cost of a full band.
In 2003 Steve returned to Tenerife to work as an entertainer, including stints with the 'TFE Beatles' as both John and Paul, and also as 'Billy Beatle' returning to the UK on short runs with his One-Man Tribute to all four Beatles. 2015 saw Steve joining with an old friend Steve Gee (John) to form BOOTLEG JOHN AND PAUL, with the idea of again creating an authentic sounding and looking alternative to a full band, as many venues simply haven't the room, or these days the budget to host a four piece.
Authentic suits (From Beatwear in Liverpool) and the actual guitars from Hofner and Rickenbacker, attention to detail down to the guitar straps the onstage look is perfect, with a large Cavern inspired backdrop and a great sound BJ&P truly recreate an evening of Beatlemania!
Paul is even left handed too!

Steve first picked up a guitar at the age of 12, after it was given to him as a hand me down from a relative. Self taught,he used to watch top of the pops and listen to records learning everything by ear. After a couple of years of hard practice and many blisters,he joined his first rock n roll band "the convertibles"and started to work the west midlands working mens club scene. The band soon found themselves gigging each weekend and even won awards. Steve soon found a heavier side to his style, and formed a band with his 2 brothers. "Outrun" quickly gained a great reputation in the pubs and clubs, and a break would come when the band were offered a residency in tenerife. Their time there would last 6 years, playing rock covers at the kangaroo bar in veronicas. 1998 took a turn, when the bar closed, and the brothers decided to go back to Britain. It wasn't long before steve was offered the job of playing George harrison in a Beatles tribute band..a job which would take him round the world and playing for clients such as sir david beckham and richard branson, and even appeared on the tv show kilroy. This particular role would last until 2008,when steve was asked to play lead guitar for the eagles tribute "desperado"..an offer he couldn't refuse. Although he thoroughly loved performing with desperado, his mind kept wandering back to tenerife, and eventually in 2012,took the plunge to move back. This is where he met up again with the other Steve..and the rest as they say...is history.
